CharTec Completes Integration of BDR Backup Disaster Recovery Appliance With ConnectWise for Management of MSP Client Backups

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CharTec, the SMB channel's leading "Hardware as a Service" (HaaS)/sales training provider, announced today it has completed integration of its CharTec BDR (Backup and Disaster Recovery) appliance with ConnectWise, the leading business management solution designed exclusively for IT service providers, VARs and MSPs.

CharTec's BDR appliance provides real-time onsite data protection as well as offsite data continuity via cloud storage, while nightly self testing proves backups are successful. MSPs remotely manage CharTec BDR through an easy-to-use, web-based portal with an RMM (Remote Monitoring Management) agent for alerting and scripting. The customer or IT service company can initiate rapid and reliable restore of any backup image, any time.

With CharTec's new BDR integration, MSPs can automatically import backup statistics into their ConnectWise and use this information in reports which benefit their billing system. These reports help create accurate invoices reflecting up to the minute off-site stored capacity costs. Reports show backup success/failure, systems and partitions being protected, and create a ticket that appears not only in the partners' dashboard, but in CharTec's as well.

In addition, CharTec will also be able to track the same statistics for its MSP partners using ConnectWise to provide a high-level status overview of all their BDR systems in use.
