Cheng Cohen Attorneys to Participate in International Franchise Association Conference

CHICAGO, Feb. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Two attorneys from Cheng Cohen, the franchise industry's premier full service boutique law firm, will participate in the International Franchise Association's (IFA's) 54^th Annual Convention, February 22-25 in New Orleans.

Amy Cheng, co-founder and partner, will facilitate a roundtable on "Business and Legal Considerations When Considering System Changes/Upgrades" on Monday. Cheng represents franchisors of all sizes on the structuring and operation of franchise programs through all phases of development and will lead the roundtable discussion about how franchisors can change, upgrade and expand their franchise systems on multiple levels. Cheng was selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers of America® and is The Best Lawyers' 2014 Chicago Franchise Law "Lawyer of the Year."

Partner Michael Daigle will participate in the IFA Convention's Sunday morning Financial Summit which looks at four ways finance is affecting the franchise industry. Specifically, Daigle will lend his expertise to the Private Equity panel, exploring how and when a franchisor should prepare for private equity transactions and investments, as well as reviewing private equity's impact on both the franchisor and the franchise system. A veteran attorney with 20 year's experience on the corporate side, Daigle returned to private practice in 2008 and now advises both US and foreign franchisors on a variety of legal matters. He currently serves as co-chair of the International Commercial Transactions, Franchising and Distribution Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of International Law.
