LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Chideo, the first interactive charity broadcast network, has partnered with YouTube® star Ricky Dillon to support Crisis Text Line, the nation's first free 24/7 text line for teens in crisis. In addition to becoming a Chideo Ambassador and contributing exclusive content to the charity network, Dillon and Chideo are hosting fan events in four cities – New York City, Minneapolis, San Diego and St. Louis – all designed to raise awareness and much-needed funds for Crisis Text Line.
The 22-year-old Dillon is a prolific YouTube® content creator whose channel has 1.9 million subscribers and 85 million views. The multi-faceted artist also recently released his second single, with his first EP scheduled for release in early 2015.
"I am beyond excited to work with Chideo on this charity campaign that I am running for Crisis Text Line," Dillon said. "They have every resource and help I could ever ask for, and together with my fans, we are going to do amazing things for Crisis Text Line. First of all, I hope we can raise awareness about the important work they do and furthermore, raise money for the organization so it can hire more volunteers due to high demand. I'm hoping I can help thousands and thousands of struggling teens and young adults out there find help through Crisis Text Line."
Fans who want to attend one of the exclusive meet-and-greet events may do so by purchasing tickets for $50 on Chideo, with all proceeds benefitting Crisis Text Line. With just 200 tickets available in each city, fans who aren't able to purchase tickets can donate to the non-profit on Chideo for a chance to win one of four VIP experience packages that include:
- Four tickets to an event in one of the select cities
- Dinner and photo opportunity with Ricky Dillon
- Two nights hotel accommodations, round trip airfare for four people and $500 in spending money
Fans earn one entry for a $10 donation, with additional donations generating even more chances to win. In addition, donations of $25 or more will receive a digital thank you from Dillon; donations of $50 or more receive a "Live Inspired" or "Tweet" t-shirt designed by Dillon; donations of $100 or more receive a t-shirt and an exclusive signed photo of Dillon; and donations of $200 or more receive a t-shirt, an exclusive signed photo and a poster designed by Dillon.
"We're excited to work with Ricky and Chideo to raise funds in order to meet the huge demand we see from teens in crisis across the country," said Baylee Greenberg, Director of Operations at Crisis Text Line. "Millions of teens are quietly suffering every day. They struggle with bullying, homophobia, suicidal thoughts and more. The solution is beautifully simple. We provide effective and secure counseling to teens via a medium they already use and trust: text."
Tickets are available now, and the deadline to enter for a chance to win one of the experience packages is 11:59 p.m. PST on December 16, 2014.
