MIAMI, Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Chief Outsiders (CO), the nation's leading strategic marketing firm comprised solely of C-level marketing executives, has opened a Miami Office to meet surging demand for its services.
The Inc.-5000 firm, which focuses on addressing the growth challenges of small- and mid-sized companies, continues its nationwide expansion with the addition of CMO David Harkleroad to its roster of 40 CMOs. Based in Miami, Mr. Harkleroad will work with CEOs in Florida and throughout the U.S. to address their business issues and take their companies to the next level of business performance.
Mr. Harkleroad brings a wealth of experience in helping companies launch, expand and grow. With a background that includes experience as Chief Marketing Officer and Board Member for several organizations, as well as time spent as an entrepreneur growing his own business, he is well-versed at meeting the challenges faced by growth company CEOs and their teams.
"Chief Outsiders brings a tremendous breadth and depth of experience to help companies grow by guiding their strategic marketing efforts," he said. "Our unique business model brings senior level marketing experts on a fractional or part-time basis to help CEOs expand their businesses."
Mr. Harkleroad's strong suit is driving revenues for technology, B2B, and professional services organizations through strategy, product marketing and demand generation. As CMO at Utopia Global Inc., a private-equity backed Chicago-based enterprise data solutions enterprise, he increased the sales pipeline by 75%. As CMO of Hay Group, a Philadelphia-based global management consulting firm, he doubled sales of productized services. And as VP Marketing and Brand Strategy for IBM his efforts resulted in $100s of millions of new sales. Locally, he is a Board Member of EcoTech, a Miami Shores based green manufacturing startup business incubator.
"Miami and South Florida have been a hot-bed of small and mid-sized business activity for quite some time," said Tom McCrary, Managing Partner, Southeast for Chief Outsiders. "And, while many of the CEOs of these firms know they need expert marketing assistance, they often can't afford full-time CMOs. We wanted to enter the market in the right way with a CMO of Mr. Harkleroad's caliber. His international and marketing background, consultative approach to working with CEOs to address their business challenges, and focus on growth make him an exceptional resource for the Miami business community."
Mr. Harkleroad received an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and a BS and BA from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He can be reached at [email protected].
About Chief Outsiders
Recently listed by Inc Magazine as one of 600 fastest growing privately held companies in the US and recognized for the Houston Business Journal's Fast 100, Chief Outsiders, LLC is an "Executives-as-a-Service" firm helping grow mid-sized companies from coast to coast with part-time, or fractional, Chief Marketing Officers. Chief Outsiders is unique among strategic marketing and management consulting firms, by working as part of the portfolio company leadership team on a fractional or as-needed basis to not only help develop market based growth plans, but to be responsible for implementing the plans within the company. Unlike most consulting firms, Chief Outsiders believes delivering a world-class marketing strategy on its own creates very little value. The real value is created by helping the organization implement the growth vision.
Everyone at Chief Outsiders has held the position of VP of Marketing or higher at one or more operating companies. With 30+ CMOs across the country, we can put exactly the right skill set on the leadership team of any portfolio company for a fraction of the cost of a full time executive.
Chief Outsiders has been a premier source for businesses seeking marketing expertise, execution and leadership including Riverside Company portfolio companies OnCourse Learning, YourMembership.com and IDoc, Source Capital portfolio companies such as Abutec, and Merrill Lynch Special Situations Group portfolio companies such as EarthColor.
