Chinese Author Xuemo Wins 2026 Global Bridge Award, as "Eternal Love" Earns 2026NYC Big Book Award

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Chinese author Xuemo has received the 2026 Author of the Year – Global Bridge Award from the International Impact Book Awards, becoming the first Chinese author to receive this honor, according to the organizers. The awards ceremony was held in Hollywood, California.

In the award presentation, the committee chair praised Xuemo for bringing Chinese culture to readers around the world.

"Some books remain in the countries where they are written. Very few cross the world," the chair said. "Tonight's honoree is a writer from Gansu, western China, whose works have been translated into more than 20 languages. Through his books, readers worldwide can enter villages they may never have the opportunity to visit."

The chair also highlighted Xuemo's novel "Into the Desert," translated into English by Howard Goldblatt, the renowned translator of numerous Nobel laureates' works.

In a separate achievement, Xuemo's Eternal Love, published internationally by Ruxue International Media Inc., has won a 2026 NYC Big Book Award. The English-language edition has also reached No. 1 on an Amazon psychological literary fiction bestseller chart, according to the publisher.

A work of literary fiction exploring love, loss, and personal transformation, Eternal Love invites readers to move beyond seeking love from others toward rediscovering self-love, and to change not necessarily the circumstances of life, but how they respond to them.

Ted Olczak, president of the NYC Big Book Award, described the novel as "a work of raw emotion and profound insight that showcases the resilience of the human spirit."

Through novels, essays, and other literary works, Xuemo explores the landscapes, folk traditions, and spiritual heritage of western China. His international recognition and translated publications continue to introduce these distinctive cultural experiences to readers across borders.
