Chris Williams Named Managing Director Of Barney & Barney's San Francisco-Bay Area Operations

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Barney & Barney, LLC, one of the nation's largest independent insurance brokerages, today announced that Chris Williams has been promoted to Managing Director of its Bay Area offices.

Williams, who has been with the firm since 1993, will lead the firm's Bay Area team of professionals offering commercial property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, workers compensation, compensation consulting, executive liability, personal lines and surety.

Williams succeeds Mike Mirksy, who has been with the firm since 1980. Mirksy helped lead the firm's growth in Northern California and was previously the CEO of Saylor & Hill, which merged with Barney & Barney in 2008.

Williams has more than 25 years of industry experience and is a recognized expert in employee benefits. In addition to overseeing the operations of the Bay Area office, Williams is responsible for developing strategy, design, implementation and communication of employee benefit programs for the firm's clients. Prior to joining Barney & Barney, Williams worked for The Travelers Insurance Company where he was Regional Director in charge of sales. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
