To be considered for this ranking, we began with schools that have been accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS), or the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU), or a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). We then ranked each of the schools according to publicly available "net price" tuition data. Average Net price is defined as "subtracting the average amount of federal, state/local government, or institutional grant or scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. The total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees, books and supplies, and the weighted average for room and board and other expenses," by the National Center for Education Statistics.
Michael Templeton, Managing Editor for Christian Universities Online, states, "Affordability of a Christian higher education continues to be on the forefront of student's and parent's considerations when evaluating potential schools." Templeton states they intend for this ranking to be a concise summary to help students and parents have a starting point when evaluating affordability of intentionally Christian institutions. Templeton went on to say, "Christian Universities Online (CUO) continues to work hard to be the trusted and go-to resource for parents and students seeking to make a decision about attending intentionally Christian colleges and universities.
