Christian Universities Online created this regional ranking knowing that for many students geography plays a key role in their in the college search process. Although the list mirrors its top fifty ranking of schools nationwide, the geographical parameters of this ranking result in a more specialized list that is both succinct and interest-based. Anna-Rebekah Orr, site editor, says, "While geography is not the highest priority for all emerging college students, it can play a key role for some. Proximity to home (which affects travel costs), availability of post-graduate opportunities locally, and familiarity with the region are all factors that many students consider. Cost of living, climate, and culture also wield some influence in the decision making process. This ranking highlights intentionally Christian schools in the midwest that are known for personal attention to their students, selectivity, readily available financial aid, and overall student satisfaction.
