Christopher Toohey Joins PwC's Risk Assurance Services Practice

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC U.S. today announced that Christopher Toohey has joined the firm in San Francisco as a partner focused on Internal Audit-related services within PwC's Risk Assurance practice.

PwC's Northern California Risk Assurance practice is a team of approximately 100 professionals who provide services in the areas of internal audit sourcing and strategy assessment, regulatory compliance, IT-related controls assessments, and non-financial performance and reporting.

Toohey brings more than 23 years of experience advising clients with complex processes, accounting, and financial reporting requirements. He joins PwC from KPMG, where he spent his early years conducting external audits on both public and non-public companies, and the past twelve years focused on risk-based advisory services.

Toohey's extensive experience includes advising global multi-billion dollar retailers, complex technology companies and a global credit card company.  Chris also brings with him years of experience in leadership roles, having served as the Lead Advisory Client Service Partner, Lead Consumer Markets Partner, Sarbanes-Oxley Advisory Lead West Region Partner, and as a member of the Internal Audit Regulatory and Compliance Practice leadership team during his tenure at KPMG.

Chris is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the National Retail Federation. Chris has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
