RESTON, Va., Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Claraview, a division of Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), a strategy and technology consultancy focused exclusively on data warehousing and business intelligence (BI), announced today that it has signed an agreement with the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC) to develop an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), implement Teradata's Healthcare Logical Data Model (HCLDM), and create a reporting solution for the Medical Center. WFUBMC presently has two separate data warehouses, and have decided as a strategic goal to move to a single EDW, and has engaged Claraview to build their unified EDW.  This phase will consist of a set of executive-level dashboards showing performance in the patient care space encompassing clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory metrics.  The goal is to provide timely delivery of easily accessible, consistent summary data across the enterprise.  Future phases are planned to provide more sophisticated analytics around patient care, as well as providing business intelligence (BI) and analytics in these categories: Service Excellence, Human Resources, Academic, Revenue, and Supply Chain.

"Our strategic goal is to integrate our varied operational data sources into a single unified enterprise data warehouse in order to support and measure performance across the institution," said Sheila Sanders, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center Chief Information Officer. "We awarded the contract to Claraview due to their extensive healthcare business intelligence expertise – and data warehousing experience for health systems with similar enterprise challenges and information asset objectives."

"We are pleased that Wake Forest Medical Center has chosen Claraview to build their EDW," said David Silberstein, Claraview Principal, and head of its healthcare practice.  "Claraview will leverage our combination of BI/DW best practices along with our healthcare-specific domain knowledge to enable the center's stakeholders to make more informed strategic decisions that positively impact the enterprise and improve the overall quality of care to its patients."
