Claraview Deploys Phase I of the Enterprise Data Integrity Project for Affinity Health Plan

RESTON, Va., May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Claraview, a division of Teradata (NYSE: TDC), a strategy and technology consultancy focused exclusively on business intelligence (BI) and analytic solutions, announced today the successful deployment of the Enterprise Data Integrity (EDI) solution for Affinity Health Plan. The EDI solution will provide a 'single source of truth' via an enterprise-level standardization of data elements, definitions and code schemes to support consistent and accurate analytics across the enterprise.

As part of a multi-phased program, Affinity Health Plan's Information Management department rolled out the first phase of the EDI solution in January 2012. Affinity historically had numerous data extract and analytic reporting processes that were isolated within individual business areas. This limited the business user's access to much needed information, resulting in impeded enterprise-wide sharing of information, data redundancy and high costs.

For the first phase, Claraview successfully delivered a data model with over 800 unique data elements, a data dictionary containing standardized business definitions, and over 30 business intelligence dashboards and reports. This solution combined data from 10 disparate source systems to provide Affinity's business users with a one-stop shop for claim, provider, membership/premium, pharmacy and behavioral health information. Future releases will centralize the source of accurate information, reduce human error, enable cost saving and will ultimately improve decision making. The program is expected to achieve an ROI of 31 percent within the first year of production.

The EDI project is expected to expand and incorporate new business areas and data sources over the next two years. Phase II of the EDI project kicked off in February 2012, and will include rounding out existing subject areas to cover all lines of business. It will add new subject areas to support strategic initiatives including: utilization, case and disease management. In addition, it will also implement a data governance process.
