CYPRESS, Calif., Jan. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Clarion Corporation of America, a leader in consumer and commercial mobile electronics, announced today that Calvin Nichols has been appointed as Senior Vice President of OEM Sales. Nichols brings more than 20 years of experience in driving strategic growth and product visibility as a sales professional, a business unit leader and an engineer for large global corporations across automotive and related industries. As Senior Vice President of OEM Sales, Nichols will lead Clarion's OEM sales activities in the U.S. market.

Prior to joining Clarion Corporation of America, Nichols served as Global Market Segment Manager for BASF Corporation, where he was responsible for leading new business development and portfolio strategy in the automotive and transportation segments. Prior to that, Nichols held leadership positions in sales and marketing management and product strategy at Panasonic Automotive Systems, Visteon Corp., and Omron Automotive Electronics. He has also held positions in advanced product and manufacturing engineering at both Ford Motor Co. and Denso Corp.

Nichols holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical and manufacturing engineering in plastics and material science from the University of Toledo, an MBA in international business and marketing from Eastern Michigan University, and completed a management program at the University of Notre Dame.
