VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Clarius Mobile Health, a leader in portable handheld ultrasound, released a telemedicine solution called Clarius Live. The simple-to-use feature allows any Clarius user to easily request real-time assistance while performing an ultrasound exam with their Clarius Ultrasound Scanner. The feature is fully integrated into the current version of the app and is activated with a single tap on the screen, which opens a prompt to enter an email address or phone number to connect with anyone around the world.
Clarius Live debuted at this year's AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) annual conference, where it impressed many of the attendees, including Oriana Tolo, Director of Education at ZEDU Ultrasound Training. "What I think is really good about it is that it's really simple. It's like sending a text through the phone," commented Tolo upon experiencing Clarius Live on her own device for the first time. Dave Willis, Co-founder and Chief Strategic Officer of Clarius, said, "There is so much excitement behind this feature because it opens up many opportunities for remote education and rural medicine, facilitating collaboration between colleagues thousands of miles apart."
The receiver is notified with a secure link from Clarius by SMS or email. The call is then accessible from any smart device or desktop computer with an internet connection. There is two-way audio communication, and the user can give touch feedback with their touch screen or cursor directly on the live ultrasound image. The receiver does not need any additional apps, accounts or hardware, which sets Clarius Live apart from other telemedicine platforms. Clarius Live is currently available on iOS for all Clarius users for up to 60 minutes a month.
