Clinton & Peed PLLC Client Recoup Launches Its Innovative Philanthropic Social Engine
WASHINGTON, June 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Clinton & Peed, a boutique Washington DC law firm, is proud to announce the debut of Recoup, an exciting philanthropic social engine that unites cause-oriented businesses, consumers and nonprofits to do good in the world.
"We are very happy with the service we received from Clinton & Peed in helping us structure our business, create all of our contracts, and navigate the complex state and federal regulations that govern commercial co-ventures," said Gianluca Pivato, co-founder of Recoup. "As entrepreneurs themselves, the attorneys at Clinton & Peed helped us develop a powerful system that would maximize its effectiveness while adhering to the highest standards of financial accountability and transparency."
Recoup partners with merchants who want to inspire their customers to support charitable causes. The merchants offer discounted goods or services to Recoup's members via email, but encourage customers to donate the discount to one of Recoup's charitable partners. Regardless of what the customer does, Recoup donates a minimum of ten percent of the discounted price automatically. Using this innovative structure, donors may receive a tax deduction for their voluntary donations even if they ultimately receive goods or services worth more than what they paid.
Causes already signed up include Rock the Vote, American Forests, Alaska Wilderness League, and Education Pioneers, with more joining at a very high rate.
While this announcement comes soon after the launch of a functioning demonstration site, www.recoup.com, Clinton & Peed was there from the earliest days and played a fundamental role in structuring the business, negotiating key contracts, and providing essential strategic advice.
"We are proud of the role we played in Recoup's creation. The end result is a company that is truly special. It is a powerful fundraising tool that delivers benefits to all of its participants: merchants, nonprofits, and donors/consumers. We believe that Recoup has great potential as both a business and a philanthropic engine, and look forward to our continued involvement as the Company grows."
With Clinton & Peed's continued support, Recoup plans to launch their beta site offering its unique donation opportunities to millions of consumers by the end of this summer.
