Cloudphysician Unveils Nightingale, a Visual Intelligence Foundation Model Built for the Hospital Room

Founded by physicians and trained on thousands of hours of clinical video, Cloudphysician develops clinical AI to extend bedside capacity without displacing clinicians or disrupting their workflows. Nightingale is the culmination of that rigorously vetted collective data, testing and experience. Unlike general-purpose video AI systems that identify basic activity such as patient presence or movement, Nightingale is engineered to recognize fine-grained clinical signals, including abnormal breathing patterns, nasal flaring, tube positioning (differentiating feeding tubes from breathing tubes), signs of delirium, sedation levels, fall risk, pressure ulcer risk and more.

A compact foundation model developed using Cloudphysician's proprietary clinical data and expert annotations, Nightingale employs a comprehensive grounds up approach instead of fine-tuning existing open-weight models. Nightingale runs entirely inside the hospital. A single on-premise GPU ingests 100 concurrent camera streams, so patient video never leaves the building. The result is an efficient perception layer designed for edge and on-premise deployment reducing inference and bandwidth costs by roughly 100x compared to general-purpose, cloud-based, token-driven models.
