ClubCorp Acquires The Country Club of the South

DALLAS, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- ClubCorp, The World Leader in Private Clubs, today announced the acquisition of The Country Club of the South, located in Johns Creek, Georgia, 30 minutes north of Atlanta. The Country Club of the South features a 7,000-yard, 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, named one of the "Top 20 Best Courses in Georgia" by Golf Digest magazine.

Historically one of the foremost private clubs in Atlanta, The Country Club of the South perfectly complements ClubCorp's eight Atlanta-area properties, which includes such noted clubs as Eagle's Landing Country Club, Laurel Springs Golf Club, and Bear's Best Golf Club.

An extensive capital improvement project will begin immediately that includes significant enhancements to the golf course, including greens renovations, and improvements to the turfgrass, cart paths, clubhouse interior, and tennis facility.

The Country Club of the South will be included in the Atlanta Society and members of the club taking advantage of the Atlanta Society membership, will have social, dining, and golf privileges on championship courses at a select group of 16 private Atlanta-area clubs, each with its own reputation for excellence.  Members will also have the option of participating in ClubCorp's industry-leading Signature Gold program, which offers complimentary golf and dining at a network of more than 200 owned or affiliate clubs around the country.

Amenities also include a nearly 2,000-square-foot fitness center, full-service men's and women's lounges and locker rooms, and a swim and tennis pavilion with 12 lighted tennis courts (six clay and six hard surface), a lounge with dining service, a fully stocked pro shop, and a junior Olympic swimming pool.
