ClubCorp Announces Plans to Open 'Texas Tech Club' in Lubbock
Newest Club to be Located in Jones AT&T Stadium
DALLAS, May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- ClubCorp, The World Leader in Private Clubs, announces it plans to open the Texas Tech Club, a new private member club to be located in Jones AT&T Stadium on the Texas Tech Campus. Slated to open its doors for the first Red Raider game of the 2010 season, the Texas Tech Club will serve as a gathering spot for alumni, faculty, and staff along with the Lubbock professional, civic, and social community.
The Texas Tech Board of Regents recently approved plans and construction has begun on the club, which will be located on the east side of the expanded stadium. The club design will reflect the rich Texas Tech history and will feature floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the stadium facing west and, to the east, downtown Lubbock. Amenities will include an upscale dining room with its own dedicated "exposition kitchen," a casual bar and grill, private dining rooms, and multimedia-capable business rooms. Dedicated parking on non-game days along with easy access from the Marsha Sharp Freeway will make the club convenient for all.
In addition to operating the club, ClubCorp will provide food and beverage catering services for the suites and premium seat holders in both sides of the stadium on game days as well as supply catering for all non-game-day meetings and events in the stadium.
"We are excited about opening the Texas Tech Club and about ClubCorp becoming an integral part of the university and local community," said Eric Affeldt, ClubCorp's president and CEO. "Our university aligned clubs have proven to be very popular venues where alumni, fans, and friends continue to congregate and take pride in their alma mater while enjoying an upscale setting."
ClubCorp operates additional clubs in stadiums across the country including the University of Texas Club in Austin and Florida State University. In Texas, ClubCorp operates more than 30 clubs, including the Tower Club in Dallas and Houston City Club.
A range of membership classifications will soon be announced with resident and non-resident offerings, and special pricing for faculty and junior alumni. According to Dave Woodyard, ClubCorp's executive vice president of development, the club is well under way and the club's Board of Governors will be sending invitations for membership as early as July.
