Coalition Of Law Firms Reach Agreement To Resolve Tens Of Thousands Of Mesh Claims Against Endo Pharmaceuticals

PENSACOLA, Fla., Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Law firms of Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz P.L.L.C., Bailey Peavy Bailey, P.L.L.C., Burnett Law Firm, and the Potts Law Firm, LLP are pleased to announce that they have resolved their clients' claims related to pelvic mesh devices manufactured by American Medical Systems and/or Endo Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Jointly, the law firms represent approximately 13,000 women alleging that they have sustained injuries as a result of the pelvic mesh devices. 

The negotiating team of attorneys Bryan Aylstock, Riley Burnett, Harris Junell, Derek Potts and Justin Witkin, report that the settlement allows for the participation of substantially all of the individuals in the United States asserting claims against AMS or Endo related to their pelvic mesh products.

Mr. Junell explained: "A key feature of the settlement was our creation of a single settlement process by which all claimants are valued by objective criteria overseen by a special master and settlement court.  This uniformity was essential to AMS' agreement to expand the settlement to substantially all of the remaining claimants in the United States."

According to Mr. Witkin, both sides were committed to the settlement process.  "It was very important that we had lawyers on both sides focused solely on resolution.  We could not have reached this agreement if we had to try to work around busy litigation schedules."
