VALENCIA, Calif., March 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cochlear Corporation Vice President of U.S. Sales Jerry Schloffman has decided to leave Cochlear to join Valencia Technologies (www.valenciatechnologies.com) and his longtime mentor and friend, Jeff Greiner, who is the CEO of Valencia. Schloffman will be the Chief of Market Development and will be responsible for generating enthusiasm and support for the use of Valencia's coin-sized neuromodulation device in the treatment of resistant hypertension, including the recruitment of clinical trial sites and the recruitment of patients for the pivotal trial in the United States in 2016.
Schloffman comes to Valencia Technologies after spending the last 4 years at Cochlear Corporation, the world leader in implantable hearing technologies, where he was responsible for a field and operations staff of approximately 90 people and over 225 million dollars in annual revenue. Prior to his work at Cochlear Americas, Schloffman spent 16 years at Advanced Bionics serving in a number of roles including the Vice President of Global Marketing and the Vice President of North American Sales and Service, reporting to Greiner.
"Jerry is a perfect fit for what Valencia needs to accomplish in the next few years," said Greiner. "Moreover, Jerry's strategic thinking, work ethic, and balance will fortify our already strong team."
"It took something really special to convince me to leave Cochlear Corporation," said Schloffman. "They are the runaway market leader in implantable hearing and have the leadership and technology that will insure patient and corporate success for decades to come. But, I see working with Valencia Technologies as a once in a lifetime opportunity and am honored to join Jeff and the team. While we are starting with changing the way hypertension is treated, the core technology has almost unlimited potential to treat a number of other disease states."
Schloffman holds bachelor's and master's degrees in communication disorders from the University of Northern Colorado.
Valencia Technologies Corporation is a medical technology company located in Valencia, California, and founded and led by Jeff Greiner, the former operational leader of Advanced Bionics from its infancy to over 2500 employees.
