Cory Isaacson is the CEO and CTO of CodeFutures, a provider of agile Big Data technologies. He has been actively involved in leading information technologies for more than 20 years. What worked in the past may not work in the present. That's certainly true for how many in the technology industry have looked at databases. The conceptual view of databases as static data repositories has limited both the ability to keep pace with changing business requirements and to adapt to today's more "agile" approach to IT. During this session, Isaacson, along with two partners, will outline the challenges of today's database implementations and how the industry has been looking at databases the wrong way on multiple fronts.

•   MapDB: The Agile Java Database

MapDB is an Apache-licensed open source database specifically designed for Java developers. This session will cover the MapDB architecture, breaking the Java Heap barrier and using Maps as a database, among other areas.

•   Building an Agile Big Data Infrastructure: A Different View

Wednesday, June 11: 4:55-5:30 p.m. ET
This session will cover Big Data from a different perspective. This new perspective solves a number of Big Data problems rapidly that before required extensive analysis and development. This agile approach to Big Data has been extremely revealing of the start of a new paradigm for advanced data infrastructures and management.

•   Scaling Big Data

Thursday, June 12: 2:10-2:45 p.m. ET
In this session, Isaacson will talk about what it takes to scale data tiers and how to keep them reliable – despite the challenges presented in cloud environments. He will provide a quick review of the primary types of database platforms, enabling users to choose the best technology for application challenges. Isaacson will also preview his upcoming new book, Understanding Big Data Scalability.
