Expert-led sessions explore stronger transfer pathways and spark peer collaboration through the recently launched CollegeSource Commons
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CollegeSource, the leading transfer and degree planning provider, today announced its ninth annual Transfer Week Webinar Series, taking place October 19–23, 2026 during National Transfer Student Week. Under the theme "Building the Pathways Students Deserve," the free online series brings together transfer advocacy group Transfer Nation and higher education professionals to share strategies for workforce partnerships, dual enrollment, military credit and reducing transfer melt.
"Some of the most valuable ideas in transfer come from colleagues tackling the same challenges, especially as students bring more varied educational experiences to our campuses," said Kerry Cooper, CEO of CollegeSource. "Working with Transfer Nation and our institutional presenters gives participants an opportunity to examine common challenges and take useful ideas back to their own institutions."
Transfer Nation's Dr. Lauren Kaplan of Northern Virginia Community College and Jamie Blanch of Knox College will join CollegeSource's Let's Talk Transfer hosts, Sarah Hatfield and Tim Horzmann, for "Tricks and Treats of Transfer Week" on Thursday, October 22. The interactive session will allow attendees to share and explore practices that help transfer students feel welcome and supported, from their first contact with an institution through life on campus.
Institutional sessions include:
- First in Flight, First in Partnership: North Carolina Transfer and Workforce Partnerships - Dr. Seth Marc Kamen of the North Carolina Community College System and Jami Dawkins of The University of North Carolina System will present perspectives on transfer and workforce partnerships.
- Supporting the New Traditional Student: Lessons from St. Mary's College of Maryland's Dual Enrollment Growth - Jacqui Rogers-Frere and Keisha Rolle of St. Mary's College of Maryland will share lessons from the institution's dual enrollment growth.
- Perspective on Transfer Practices at Metropolitan State University of Denver for the Military JST & Other Records - Bren Shuler of Metropolitan State University of Denver will discuss transfer practices involving the military Joint Services Transcript and other records.
- Before They Disappear: Reducing Transfer Melt Through Connection, Communication, and Confidence - Emily Danger of Palmer College of Chiropractic will address transfer melt, when students intend to transfer but do not ultimately enroll, and approaches to helping them move forward.
CollegeSource is also inviting higher education professionals to join The Commons, a free online community for sharing transfer resources, exchanging ideas and continuing conversations beyond Transfer Week. Visit thecommons.collegesource.com.
Transfer Week sessions begin daily at 2 p.m. ET, followed by live Zoom discussions where participants can connect with peers and explore questions raised during the presentations. Optional product demonstrations Monday through Thursday will offer a look at TES®, Transferology®, uAchieve® Transfer Articulation and Policy Central.
