Colorado Culture Change Coalition Hosts Free Workshop
CENTENNIAL, Colo., April 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Colorado Culture Change Coalition welcomes the community to a reception and free workshop featuring some of the nation's leading experts who are working to create a more person-centered and compassionate approach to long-term care for the elderly and disabled. The workshop will be held on Monday, April 18 at the Denver Marriott Tech Center, 4900 S. Syracuse Street. The reception will be from 6-7 p.m., followed by the program from 7-9 p.m. Both events are free. All are welcome.
Colorado Culture Change Coalition is part of a national movement to change the culture of long-term care. The workshop will offer consumers exciting information how you can find and advocate for care that focuses on your loved one's individual needs.
The speakers include:
- Dr. Bill Thomas, an international authority on geriatric medicine and founder of The Eden Alternative
- Dr. Al Power, author of Dementia Beyond Drugs
- Dr. Vicki Rosebrook, Exec. Dir. of the Macklin Institute who has worked tirelessly to educate others about age awareness
- Chandra Matthews, Denver Regional Council of Government, Area Agency on Aging
