CompTIA Issues Call for Speakers, Opens Registration for Breakaway 2012

IT channel's premier education event set for July 30 through Aug. 2 in Las Vegas

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., April 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CompTIA, the non-profit association for the information technology (IT) industry, today issued a call for speakers for Breakaway 2012, the IT channel's premier annual education event.

Registration is now open for the 2012 conference, scheduled for July 30 through Aug. 2 at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

"Breakaway 2012 will offer IT channel companies fresh insights into where our industry is headed, along with new learning opportunities and strategies to prepare them to successfully navigate their future course," said Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, education and events, CompTIA.

The 2012 conference will cover the markets, solutions and technologies impacting the IT channel today. Topics where speaker submissions are being accepted include:

• Marketing
• Mobility Trends and Security

• Recruiting the Ideal Workforce

Once again this year, conference attendees have the opportunity to select a conference topic by voting for the Breakaway 2012 Wild Card Session.

Proposals for the Breakaway 2012 Wildcard Session may cover a different angle on a topic that's already part of the education program; or a relevant subject that's not currently part of the conference agenda. Entries must be topic focused, not geared toward a specific company, product or solution.

Speaker and Wild Card submissions are being accepted through May 18. 

A selection committee will choose the best Wild Card topic proposals submitted before turning the final decision over to Breakaway registrants. Attendee voting will happen in June and the winner will be announced in early July.
