Conditional approval is a key regulatory step for Comtrend's next-generation Wi-Fi 7 gateways as they advance through the FCC certification process for the U.S. market
IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Comtrend today announced that its new Wi-Fi 7 XGS-PON ONT (GRG-4366u) and Wi-Fi 7 Ethernet gateway (PRT-7302/VG-8043u) have received conditional approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The approval excludes these specific models from the FCC Covered List restrictions, allowing Comtrend to move forward with the FCC certification process for the U.S. market.
The conditional approval also reflects a part of Comtrend's broader commitment to strengthening its U.S. presence and continuing to provide service providers with reliable, trusted broadband technology choices.
As security and regulatory requirements continue to evolve, Comtrend remains focused on meeting those requirements while investing in the next generation of its broadband portfolio. Comtrend's existing FCC-certified products remain available to U.S. service providers, while the conditional approval provides a path forward for these new Wi-Fi 7 gateways.
"We're excited to build on Comtrend's long-standing commitment to the U.S. market with these FCC conditional approvals and additional certifications planned for our residential broadband gateway portfolio," said John Castreje, General Manager at Comtrend North America. "These approvals are an important step in what's ahead for Comtrend in the U.S. as we continue investing in new opportunities and expanding into solutions such as MVNO, 5G, and Wi-Fi HaLow that help service providers extend connectivity, enter new applications, and unlock new revenue opportunities."
The two conditionally approved Wi-Fi 7 gateways include:
- GRG-4366u: Wi-Fi 7 BE7200 XGS-PON ONT | 10G symmetrical XGS-PON | 10GbE LAN | VoIP
- PRT-7302/VG-8043u: Wi-Fi 7 BE7200 Ethernet gateway | 10GbE WAN | 10GbE LAN | 1GbE LAN x4 | VoIP

Comtrend remains focused on giving service providers dependable choices across its broadband portfolio, including XGS-PON, Ethernet, xDSL, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7, and G.hn networking.
