Achieves "High Performing" in nine conditions for which adults often go to a hospital

GREENSBORO, N.C., Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/-- Less than 2 percent of hospitals rated by U.S. News & World Report are ranked "High Performing" in the nine procedures and conditions that are commonly treated in a hospital. Cone Health is one of them. The ratings evaluate more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide with 63 hospitals coming in as top performing in all procedure and condition ratings. Cone Health is listed under "Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital."

U.S. News evaluated hospitals in nine of the common procedures and medical conditions.

U.S. News created Best Hospitals procedure and condition ratings to help patients find better care for the kinds of common procedures and medical conditions that account for millions of hospitalizations each year. Objective outcome measures such as deaths, infections, readmissions and operations that need to be repeated, as well as patient satisfaction data largely determined the ratings. The Best Hospitals procedure and condition ratings rely on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data for patients 65 and older, as well as survey data from the American Hospital Association and clinical registry data from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
