New fund looks for scalable commercial AI ventures and foundational platforms, seeking to position Connecticut as a hub for frontier technology innovation
NEW HAVEN, Conn., Oct. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Connecticut Innovations (CI) today announced two strategic investments from its new AI/Q Fund into Yuma Asset Management's funds and Bexorg—pioneering companies operating at the frontiers of artificial intelligence. These investments underscore CI's commitment to advancing transformative technologies in Connecticut and beyond.
Launched to accelerate growth in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and adjacent frontier technologies, the AI/Q Fund backs bold, differentiated approaches with the potential to reshape industries.
- Yuma Asset Management, a subsidiary of Yuma Holdings, a leading builder on the decentralized artificial intelligence (deAI) network Bittensor, and backed by DCG, is advancing institutional and accredited investor access to open-source AI infrastructure through a first-of-its-kind investment vehicle.
- Bexorg is transforming central nervous system (CNS) drug discovery and development with the world's first integrated AI and whole-human brain platform.
"Yuma and Bexorg exemplify the types of innovative and bold opportunities we seek to support through the AI/Q Fund," said Matt McCooe, CEO of Connecticut Innovations. "One is providing investors with unprecedented exposure to a wave of early-stage AI innovation and the other is pushing the boundaries of AI-enabled neuroscience drug discovery and development. Both have the potential to transform their respective fields."
Yuma: Institutional Access to Decentralized AI
Yuma Asset Management provides a first-of-its-kind on-ramp for institutional and accredited investors to participate in the growth of open-source AI. Through subnet tokens—a novel asset class used to reward AI development on the Bittensor network – investors can now gain exposure to decentralized AI markets that were previously out of reach.
Bittensor is a leading decentralized AI network, providing a marketplace for AI applications ranging from drug discovery to fraud detection and providing an alternative to closed, corporate-owned AI infrastructure.
Bexorg: AI Meets Whole-Human Brain Neuroscience
Bexorg is revolutionizing CNS drug discovery and development through BrainEx, its proprietary platform that restores metabolic and molecular activity in postmortem whole human brains via specialized perfusion technology. This enables real-time, physiologically relevant data generation that continues to expand an unprecedented dataset which is integrated into an AI system grounded in experimentally measured human neurobiology.
The company's initial focus is neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, with potential to expand into a broad range of CNS diseases. Over time, Bexorg aims to accelerate strategic partnerships and internal CNS development programs with its integrated AI and precision neurology platform.
"These two opportunities illustrate CI's dual mandate: backing commercially scalable AI applications while also supporting foundational technologies that can redefine entire industries," added McCooe.
