Connection and Contribution: The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Presents the 2011 Child and Adolescent Conference

CHICAGO, Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- From school violence to bullying to the challenges of parenting in a rapidly changing and often challenging world, navigating issues in child and adolescent psychology is becoming increasingly relevant.  The Chicago School of Professional Psychology will focus on some of the new research in the field during its 2011 Child & Adolescent Conference, "Connection and Contribution" on Tuesday, September 20 in Chicago. Keynoted by Dr. Richard Macur Brousil, director of the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Program at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago, the conference will present symposia, dialogues, posters and a wide variety of topics related to child and adolescent psychology. Now in its third year, the conference is driven entirely by the third year doctoral students in the Child and Adolescent track of the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at The Chicago School, and will feature the scholarship of the students and their mentors.

The day-long conference will include presentations on topics such as adolescent psychosis, language and self-labeling in the LGBTQ community, resiliency in childhood exposure to war and terrorism, adolescent social phobias, and a variety of programs on parenting, among others. The conference will be held at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, 325 North Wells, 4th Floor, Chicago, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on September 20, 2011.
