Conterra Broadband Expands Fiber Presence in San Antonio with Long Term Agreement to Provide Fiber Optic Services to the Northside Independent School District

CHARLOTTE, N.C. and SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Conterra Broadband Services, a leading provider of private fiber-optic broadband networks, has announced that it has entered into a long-term agreement to deploy an all-fiber-optic network to support the data, video and voice requirements of the Northside Independent School District ("NISD"), San Antonio, Texas.

NISD serves approximately 106,000 students and 13,000 staff members.  The fast-growing school district is the largest in San Antonio and the fourth largest in the State of Texas covering over 350 square miles.

The fault-tolerant, dedicated network employs multiple 100 Gbps optical fiber rings to connect all of the 127 district's schools and administrative facilities with the two Northside ISD Data Centers. Conterra continuously monitors, manages, and supports the network to ensure network performance and reliability. The network is designed to scale up to 100 Gbps for each location without the need for additional construction.
