Core Services Announces Michael Rulf as Chief Technical Officer

SOMERSET, N.J., June 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Core Services Corporation ("Core Services"), an Oracle Platinum Partner and OAUG Three Star Partner, is delighted to announce that Michael Rulf has joined its management team as Chief Technical Officer ("CTO"), with a focus on industry and technology trends and related technology and business development activities.

Michael is a seasoned executive, previously a VP at AT&T Managed Services and Oracle OnDemand and brings a wealth of knowledge, breadth, and depth of skills to this pivotal position.  Michael has over 15 years of experience providing strategic direction and management of large technology teams exceeding 500 individuals at multiple Fortune 100 companies.  During that time, he has had continuous hands-on involvement in the design, installation, maintenance, and extension of large distributed software solutions as well as both Cloud Services and SaaS platforms.  This includes implementing information security systems for large organizations as well as initiatives encompassing Middleware and ERP products, Cloud enablement solutions for enterprises and ISVs, and building ecosystems around foundational managed services offerings.  Additionally, Michael developed a Big Data as a Service offering designed to support both structured and unstructured data analysis and developed solutions to enhance the User Experience through improvements to management systems and client portals.

His work has resulted in significant industry recognition including OAUG's Innovator of the Year award.  Michael maintains an active involvement in the Oracle user community where he currently co-chairs the OAUG Middleware SIG, previously co-chaired the OAUG Fusion Council, and was a member of the IOUC Product Development Committee.

Michael is a frequent presenter and panelist at OAUG, ODTUG, and OpenWorld conferences, he contributed to the book, "Oracle Security Step-by-Step," published by SANS Press, and he is a contributor to industry publications such as Oracle Magazine.  In 2008, Oracle recognized Michael with the designation of Oracle ACE Director for his significant contributions to the Oracle technical community.

Michael's educational background enhances his management experience.  He received a B.A. from The College of Wooster with a double major in Computer Science and Engineering Applications and a Master's degree from Purdue University.  He resides in Annapolis, MD with his wife.
