Cornerstone Project expects results from implementation of GuideMed®, a comprehensive narcotics monitoring program from AIT Laboratories
DAYTON, Ohio, Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cornerstone Project, LLC. (Cornerstone), has implemented GuideMed®, a comprehensive prescription narcotics monitoring program from AIT Laboratories (AIT), in a strong effort to ensure prescription narcotics are used appropriately and prescribed responsibly.
AIT's GuideMed is the country's first management program for comprehensive prescription narcotics monitoring. Designed to help provider networks prevent prescription drug misuse, GuideMed helps protect the network and its practitioners from liabilities associated with prescription narcotics while also protecting patients from the effects of misuse.
"AIT is pleased to have Cornerstone as a partner in implementing this new program. Through consistent monitoring, Cornerstone will be able to better serve their patients and fulfill their mission of changing the perception of addiction services," said R. Matthew Neff, AIT President and CEO.
By implementing GuideMed at all Ohio locations, Cornerstone is able to ensure that prescription narcotics monitoring activities are consistently followed and that monitoring data is collected to measure success of the program over time.
AIT's GuideMed nurses complete monitoring activities, such as checking the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS) prior to a patient's visit, reviewing controlled substance agreements with patients and alerting providers to patient-related concerns.
Monitoring activities are tracked using AIT's proprietary GuideMed software that automatically alerts providers to concerns using a red/yellow/green color-coded system. Prior to prescribing opioids, the provider can quickly see whether a patient is up-to-date and clear for all monitoring activities.
"GuideMed will provide a consistent monitoring program for Cornerstone that will impact prescription drug misuse in our community," said Keith Vukasinovich, President of Cornerstone Project, LLC. "With AIT's help, we have customized the program to fit our patient population and plan to use the data that is collected to study the program's effects."
