EAST GREENWICH, R.I., Oct. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Corvias Foundation, a private, charitable foundation and the charitable arm of Corvias that provides scholarships and a support network for children and spouses of active-duty Service Members, welcomes Cristi Rader to the organization's board of directors.
A graduate of University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where Rader was also a Corvias Foundation Scholarship recipient, Rader has had a successful career. In 2011, Rader interned at Walt Disney World before joining Hendrick Lexus of Charlotte in 2012. In 2015, Rader joined Corvias as a Marketing Analyst and Salesforce Manager after attending a Foundation alumni event which inspired her to reconnect and join the Corvias team with a desire to pay it forward for future scholars. Rader is currently an Opportunity Advisor for Corvias and now a Board Member with Corvias Foundation.
"As a scholarship recipient, I know first-hand the benefit of Corvias Foundation for students," said Cristi Rader. "What continues to impress and inspire me is the caliber of the scholars. We are each talented in our own way, but we are stronger together as a family, network, and foundation. Being able to represent the Foundation and help contribute to this family is truly a dream come true. More than a scholarship, this Foundation brings a young group of inspiring individuals together and forms the familial bond that keeps us all connected and engaged for the rest of our lives."
As a Board Member with Corvias Foundation, Rader is responsible for helping the Foundation communicate to Americans at large what the specific challenges are to military-affiliated students. Rader will continue to serve as an ambassador for the Foundation at conferences such as Gates Foundation session for Gates Millennium as well as the Lead 365 conference which she attended earlier this year.
"Cristi has been a part of our Foundation family for a while now," said Maria Montalvo, Executive Director of Corvias Foundation. "She has now come full circle and her perspective as an Army daughter and Foundation scholar gives her such a unique energy and passion that will continue to benefit current and future scholars for years to come."
Corvias Founder John Picerne created Corvias Foundation in 2006 to inspire students, college and university campuses, and military families to reach higher. Since its inception, the Foundation has been committed to supporting military families in the pursuit of higher education and has awarded more than $8.5 million through 397 scholarships to the children and spouses of active-duty Services Members. The scholarships provide reliable, recurring financial assistance over each student's four years of study, as well as a support network that is committed to their academic and professional growth. Among recent scholarship recipients are aspiring engineers, doctors, lawyers, scientists, and entrepreneurs.
