Country Club of the South Undergoes Extensive Clubhouse Improvement Project, Continues to See Upswing in Membership
Next Generation of Country Club of the South Includes New Outdoor Dining, Lounge, Fire Pit and More
DALLAS, Sept. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Country Club of the South, already a premier club in Atlanta, is about to get even better as it announces it currently is undergoing an exciting renovations project that will transform the clubhouse to better complement the changing lifestyles of today's private club member. The club recently re-opened its Jack Nicklaus Signature Course after extensive improvements and has introduced new programming and benefits. The "new" Country Club of the South is the result of its joining the ClubCorp family of clubs, The World Leader in Private Clubs, in June of 2010. Since the purchase, the club has seen a dramatic upswing in membership as it continues its transformation.
The clubhouse improvements, slated to be completed in fall 2011, include:
- New fire pit for outdoor socializing
- New outdoor dining options
- New men's locker room terrace
- New outdoor lounge
- New indoor dining amenities
- New lobby lounge
- New seating arrangements, tablet armchairs, lighting fixtures and more.
"I am very excited about the changes coming to the clubhouse. As the improvements are complete, we will be able to offer the members so much more in terms of dining and social offerings," said Jay Biggs, general manager. "Our goal is to create a more relevant, vibrant, and fun hub for the community and I think our members will love the 'new' Country Club of the South."
The Country Club of the South is included in the Atlanta Society, which gives members the opportunity to take advantage of the Atlanta Society membership, giving them social, dining, and golf privileges on championship courses at a select group of 16 private Atlanta-area clubs, each with its own reputation for excellence. Members also have the option of participating in ClubCorp's industry-leading Signature Gold program, which offers complimentary golf and dining at a network of more than 200 owned or affiliated clubs around the country.
