CPSC Warns Consumers to Immediately Stop Using O3waterworks-branded Sanitizing Home Spray Bottles with Lithium-Ion Batteries Due to Fire Hazard; Manufactured by Enozo Technologies Inc.

WASHINGTON, March 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers to immediately stop using the O3waterworks-branded Sanitizing Home Enhanced Oxygen Spray Bottles Home Version model number SB100 HD due to a fire hazard. The lithium-ion battery inside the bottle can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

CPSC is aware of four reports of the spray bottles overheating. 

Enozo Technologies, of North Andover, Massachusetts, the manufacturer of the products, has refused to agree to an acceptable recall.

The spray bottles use lithium-ion batteries to turn tap water into aqueous ozone. They are used to clean and sanitize surfaces. They are sold under the O3waterworks brand name. The model number is located on the label underneath the base of the unit.  The spray bottles are white and have O3waterworks branding on the base of the bottle. They have a white plastic head and base as well as clear plastic for the water reservoir. They have a blue rubber stopper on the reservoir and an on/off button on the neck.

The spray bottles were sold through Lowe's stores nationwide and online at Lowes.com and O3waterworks.com from May 2020 through June 2024 for about $200.

CPSC urges consumers to immediately dispose of the products following local hazardous waste disposal procedures. 

Note: Lithium-ion batteries should be disposed of in accordance with local and state ordinances, following the procedures established by your municipal recycling center for damaged/defective/recalled lithium batteries, because these potentially hazardous batteries must be handled differently than other batteries. Do not throw this recalled battery in the trash. Do not deposit this recalled battery in used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores.
