CLEVELAND, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CrossCountry Mortgage (CCM), the nation's number one retail mortgage lender for the third consecutive year, is reporting early results from its adoption of VantageScore® 4.0, highlighting the potential for the updated credit scoring model to deliver savings for qualified borrowers.
In the first 60 days following implementation, CCM observed an average reduction of 62 basis points on loan-level pricing adjustments (LLPAs) for loans where VantageScore 4.0 provided a more favorable credit score. Based on preliminary internal data, this represents an estimated average savings of $2,500 per transaction. Actual savings vary by loan.
"Our customers shouldn't have to wait for the industry to catch up before they can take advantage of new technology and new options," said Brian Clark, Director of Product & Pricing at CrossCountry Mortgage. "We saw an opportunity to give our loan officers another tool to help qualified borrowers. This demonstrates how additional flexibility can translate into meaningful benefits for our customers."
In addition to adopting VantageScore 4.0, CCM is expanding its lending capabilities by opening up the full range of eligible loan-to-value (LTV) ratios for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac eligible loans, removing the previous 80% LTV cap. CCM is also expanding its VA lending options, giving loan officers additional flexibility to serve eligible borrowers, including Veterans and Active-Duty Service Members.
VantageScore 4.0 has gained momentum across the mortgage industry following the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) approval of the model for use by lenders originating loans eligible for purchase by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The model incorporates additional credit data, including trended credit information, giving lenders another tool to evaluate a consumer's credit profile.
These enhancements reflect CCM's continued investment in lending solutions and technologies designed to give loan officers greater flexibility in helping homebuyers and homeowners achieve their goals. For more information, visit ccm.com.
