SAN DIEGO, July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EdgeWave®, Inc., which provides unparalleled inbox protection from today's exploding messaging threats, announces the appointment of two senior executives in response to high demand for the company's email security solutions and the need to ramp up operations to protect businesses from email-borne threats like ransomware, spear phishing, business email compromise and more. Steve Kelley has joined the company as President, and John Randall has joined as Vice President of Product Management.
In his new role, Kelley will focus on leading sales, marketing and engineering while directing global operations and overseeing deployment of resources. A cybersecurity veteran with a track record of success that spans more than 20 years, Kelley brings extensive knowledge and experience to his new position at EdgeWave. Prior to joining the team, he served as Chief Marketing Officer and Worldwide Sales Leader at Trustwave.
In his role at Trustwave, Kelley was instrumental in positioning the company as a global player and industry leader in the managed security services market, successfully completing the $850 million sale of the company to Singtel. Before that, Kelley held key leadership roles in corporate development, product management and marketing at BeyondTrust and Websense. Earlier in his career, he was CEO and cofounder of Taasera, which pioneered the "Trust as a Service" model for breach protection.
"I'm incredibly excited to join the talented EdgeWave team to execute on our mission of delivering the world's safest inboxes," Kelley said. "Sophisticated email phishing attacks are on the rise and remain the most frequent entry point for cybercriminals. EdgeWave's unique combination of machine learning technology and expert human review offers the industry's first fully managed email security platform that enables comprehensive predelivery protection, postdelivery detection and incident response to protect businesses and organizations from emerging cybersecurity threats."
As Vice President of Product Management, Randall will focus on building on the success of EdgeWave's best-in-class solutions, spearheading innovation around anti-phishing and email security platform development. He has more than 25 years of cybersecurity and technology experience, which makes him uniquely qualified to lead strategies to protect customers from emerging security threats.
Randall has held key leadership positions focusing on product management and product marketing, most recently with Trustwave and Websense. Earlier in his career, Randall served as Director of IT, providing internal security services and working closely with multiple security vendors.
"EdgeWave is disrupting the email security marketplace through a combination of ThreatTest®, our advanced anti-phishing solution, and our portfolio of comprehensive email security solutions," said Lou Ryan, CEO.
