CyrusOne and Megaport Open Alliance Enables Elastic Cloud Connectivity for Enterprises and Internet Ecosystem

BRISBANE, Australia, Jan. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Software-based elastic connectivity provider Megaport Limited (ASX: MP1) (Megaport) today announced its U.S. subsidiary has signed an alliance agreement with CyrusOne (NASDAQ: CONE) to deliver SDN-enabled, elastic interconnection and cloud exchange services in CyrusOne data centres in the United States.

Under the agreement with CyrusOne, Megaport becomes a key provider of elastic interconnection and cloud exchange services utilizing the existing CyrusOne National IX (Internet Exchange) infrastructure which provides CyrusOne's extensive Fortune 1000 customers with data centre interconnection services. This alliance expands Megaport's services to 13 new locations in markets that include Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Cincinnati, Houston, Phoenix, Sterling (Northern Virginia), and San Antonio, among others.

The Megaport Fabric enables CyrusOne customers with the ability to right-size their capacity by scaling bandwidth up and down with flexible terms. Customers can access multiple service providers over the fabric and manage direct, multi-cloud connectivity through Megaport's API, the Megaportal, and Megaport's mobile applications.

This announcement comes as Megaport has completed installation of 15 of its first-phase core footprint in the United States. The Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Northern Virginia, Seattle, and Silicon Valley metros are live for services. The core footprint provides immediate access for new and existing customers to acquire connectivity to cloud and network service partners. Megaport is a Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute connectivity partner, Amazon AWS Direct Connect partner, Google Cloud Platform Carrier Interconnect partner, as well as Amazon AWS Technology Partner.
