The unique Courageous Persuaders program encourages high school students from across the country to create 30-second TV ads to discourage underage alcohol use. Ads are aimed at – then reviewed – by middle school students who vote on the most persuasive message against underage drinking. Creators of the winning ads receive more than $14,000 in scholarships from Courageous Persuaders and sponsors USA Today, State Farm Insurance, ADCRAFTER, New York festivals, and the Cianciolo Foundation. Critical to the success of the program is the support received from the Michigan Secretary of State, including showing the winning videos throughout Michigan at all branch offices.
Interview and photo opportunities will be available after the press conference, at approximately 10:45 pm. Please contact DADA's Sandy Herp, or Joe Rohatynski [email protected] 313.378.6570.
