This special event, created to highlight the Suave Men® Heritage Edition™ line of products, will take place at Michigan International Speedway on June 12, the eve of the NASCAR XFINITY Series race. It will be held at the "Speed and Style Salon," a 1937-era replica barbershop built to commemorate the year the Suave Men brand launched. As part of the event, Mr. Ellsworth will use Suave Men® Heritage Edition™ shampoo and styling products to wash and style several pit crew members hair from Earnhardt Jr.'s team, JR Motorsports. Joined by No. 7 Suave Men Chevrolet driver Regan Smith, Earnhardt Jr. and Ellsworth will also host a Q&A discussing the evolution of the American gentleman and how men today approach hair care.

It is all being done to help men understand the importance of choosing hair products made specifically for men. Research has found that 70 percent of men agree that being well groomed gives them more confidenceii, and surprisingly, four in five guys don't use a men's shampoo or styling product in the average weekiii.

The reason for this dichotomy is simple. "Many men are in the habit of just grabbing whatever happens to be in the shower, even if it's a women's shampoo," said Rob Candelino, vice president of marketing for hair care at Unilever North America. "As a result, they may not look and feel their best. Guys should be confident to know that there is a shampoo and styling products specifically made for them so they can look and feel their best."

Earnhardt Jr. understands the connection between looking one's best and walking tall. "Whether we realize it or not, we're always making an impression," he said. "Appearance is a great indicator on how confident a driver is. There is no career, trade, or situation where a guy shouldn't feel confident in the way he looks. Confidence is a big factor in being successful, whether it's on the track or elsewhere."

Earnhardt Jr. and Smith will be joined at the "Speed and Style Salon" by Ellsworth, who has owned a barber shop since 1984 in Kannapolis, N.C. – the hometown of the Earnhardt racing family. Ellsworth has been the barber for numerous NASCAR drivers and personalities throughout the years.

Ellsworth understands the connection between appearance and confidence, and of using the right hair products. "I get asked a lot of questions about hair by the guys who come to my barber shop," he said. "They ask me for tips all the time. And one big tip I want to share is: don't get out of the shower smelling like flowers. So many of my customers just use whatever their wife or girlfriend uses.
