Danya Selects New Leadership for Atlanta

SILVER SPRING, Md., March 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Danya International, Inc. (Danya), a communications, research, and technology firm, recently hired two senior leaders for its executive staff. Janice R. Nall has joined the firm as the Managing Director, Atlanta, where she will provide strategic leadership and vision for the Atlanta operation as well as serve as Danya's Vice President of Health Marketing and Communications. With extensive experience in government information technologies, digital communications, health marketing, and user experience, Ms. Nall will lead Danya's social media, mobility, web, and other digital practices in health communications and marketing, emergency communications, and other priority information technology (IT) areas in the public health communication/marketing field.

In addition, Danya recently hired Erin M. Edgerton as Senior Director, Health Marketing and Communications. Based in the Atlanta office, Ms. Edgerton will lead Danya's focus on leveraging emerging technology for use in health communication campaigns and behavior change programs. She will work across Danya to develop comprehensive digital media strategies, advance the use of mobile technologies, build the foundation of research-based innovation, and manage the corporate social media strategy.

Ms. Nall has an extensive communications background in both the government and private sector. Most recently, she served as the Portfolio Manager in the Executive Office of the President (White House) in the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Office of E-Gov and Information Technology, overseeing the IT portfolio of three federal agencies. She also served as the lead and subject matter expert in mobile technologies, social media, web management, user experience, public engagement, accessibility, and other Administration priorities. Prior to joining the White House, Ms. Nall was the Director of the Division of eHealth Marketing at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Health Marketing (NCHM), where she led CDC's efforts to optimize electronic channels (web, social media, email, phone) to provide CDC information, interventions, and tools how, when, and where users want them. Ms. Nall also served as Chief of the Communications Technology Branch at the National Cancer Institute of NIH from 1998 ‒ 2003, overseeing user experience, web, and emerging technology efforts. In 2003 and 2009, she received the Federal 100 Award for "individuals whose ideas and accomplishments had greatest impact in shaping government IT operations" by Federal Computer Week.

Ms. Edgerton most recently served as the Director of New Media and Strategic Communication at the White House Office of the National Drug Control Policy Executive Office of the President (EOP, White House). At the White House, she also worked in the Office of Digital Strategy on the government's response to the H1N1 epidemic, the new media strategy and website for the First Lady's Let's Move! initiative, and other public health priorities. Before joining EOP, she served as Senior Social Media Strategist for CDC, where she developed the Agency's first centralized social media strategy. Ms. Edgerton has a Master of Arts degree in Health Communication from the Emerson College/Tufts School of Medicine collaborative program and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from the University of Maryland.
