DataMotion Selected to Provide Direct Secure Messaging Backbone for ADA 2014

FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DataMotion™, an experienced health information service provider (HISP), today announced its Direct Secure Messaging service (DataMotion Direct) has been selected as the backbone for demonstrations during ADA 2014 on how to securely transfer patient data between dentists, dental specialists and other healthcare entities. ADA 2014, America's Dental Meeting, is the industry's premier annual event - attended by thousands of dentists and dental professionals - and will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on October 9-14 in San Antonio, Texas. 

Demonstrations will be conducted multiple times during the meeting to provide continuing educational credit for dentists and ADA 2014 participants. A live Direct Secure Messaging network will be deployed to support the course "Exchanging Digital Images and EHR Data for Patient Treatment." DataMotion Direct will be the underlying standards-based technology system used to illustrate the secure exchange and transmission of digital patient images and data with various vendors' electronic health records (EHR) and radiology imaging systems. The course will be conducted by Gregory G. Zeller, DDS, MS, associate dean for clinical affairs and professor at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Dr. Zeller also chairs the ADA Standards Committee for Dental Informatics and leads other standards development activities.

• Use standards-based criteria for sharing of patient images and EHR data among vendor systems
