David Siegel Recognized As A CEO Of The Year Honoree By OBJ

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Westgate Resorts is proud to announce that Westgate founder and CEO, David Siegel, was recognized as a top CEO for Mega-sized companies in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal on October 10, 2014. Mr. Siegel was recognized during a luncheon for the leading CEOs of small, medium, large and mega-sized companies in Central Florida.  The "Mega-Sized" category is the largest category of awards reserved for CEOs of companies with over 1,000 team members.

Some of the highlights of Mr. Siegel's application included his work in creating the largest privately-held timeshare company in the world – which to date features 28 themed resorts with over 13,000 luxury villas spanning 9 states, as well as his recent business acquisitions – including the Cocoa Beach Pier, the Orlando Predators, and Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. In addition to his business accomplishments, Mr. Siegel was recognized for his charitable work through the Westgate Resorts Foundation he founded in 2001 – which since its inception has donated over $13 million to local communities where Westgate team members work and play. 

Mr. Siegel was also recognized for his commitment to his team members, such as creating the David's Dollars Foundation to serve as a safety net for team members who are confronted with unexpected tragedies, and the Westgate Wellness initiative, which strives to incorporate fit-friendly challenges for the health and welfare of team members throughout Westgate Resorts.  Finally, the award noted his strong commitment to the members of our armed forces for giving 1,500 vacations per year to our service men and women who served in the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Mr. Siegel has also welcomed members of the military to attend Orlando Predators' home games free of charge during the 2014 season.
