BOWIE, Md., April 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MaxSold, www.maxsold.com, Canada's combo live-auction/ household and business liquidation service debuts today in the Washington DC Metro, with an auction in Ellicott City and Bowie, Maryland. www.maxsold.com/maryland

"The Bowie, Maryland auction is a honey of a sale," says veteran auctioneer and MaxSold founder Barry Gordon. "We are liquidating the personal residence of a retired antiques shop owner. We have catalogued 330 lots of diverse items -- many of which are highly collectible."

Chief among the treasures are a 19th century signed French ormolu-style clock with hand painted porcelain panels and finial.  Porcelain and plate collectors will thrill at a wide variety of china including Limoges, Lennox, Beleek, Delft, and Bunnykins. Figurine enthusiasts can pick up limited edition pieces from Royal Doulton, Hummel, Herend, Beswick, Lladro, and Comeford. Collectors may even luck out on an extra display cabinet or two.

"I have identified four signed Laliques," says auctioneer Gordon.  "Imagine, with bidding starting at one dollar, some lucky Lalique-lover could own a sensational piece for less than the price of a small Starbucks coffee!"

Retired antiques expert Mrs. Penn kept some of the sweetest antique pieces out of the shop for her personal enjoyment. "I like the idea that with the internet a lot of people can admire and bid on my precious collection. But what is even better is that the bidders are neighbors and local collectors.  It's comforting."

The MaxSold hyperlocal approach of bidding online for goods close to home allows buyers to attend an optional viewing day onsite and pick up their winnings soon after the auction closes.

"MaxSold sent an experienced team to our client's house," says Katie Davis of Let's Move LLC, a Maryland based senior move management company serving the tristate markets of Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia (www.LetsMoveLLC.com) . "They photographed and catalogued everything, organizing hundreds of items into lots. This new method of hands-on help combined with a live online auction seems a really good fit for many of our boomer and senior clients."

MaxSold's commission-based contents liquidation service boasts a 98% sell-through average, with additional savings to sellers of thousands more in packing, moving, third party removal of unwanted and bulky items, onsite auction staging and more.  Infographic case study: http://budurl.com/maxinfo
