HUTCHINSON, Kan., April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DCI, a developer of core banking software and technologies for community banks, is expanding the company's research and development department as part of a long-term initiative to expand the breadth of the company's iCore360® core banking software and other banking technologies.
Promoted to lead the department is Daren Fankhauser, vice president of research and development, who also maintains his role as chief architect for the company's iCore360® ASP.NET programming and development.
"We've always had basic R&D and a strong, collaborative user group to provide new ideas for our product enhancements," said John H. Jones, DCI president and CEO. "Here, we are moving beyond that to scientifically go deeper into client workflows, view them alongside current and developing technologies through a wider lens, and invent new breakthroughs in how banks do business and relate to customers. As the architect behind our iCore360® and related achievements for the last 15 years, Daren is the natural choice to lead this program."
Joining Fankhauser is former DCI bank client Alan Kruse. Hired as the department vice president/industry analyst under Fankhauser, Kruse is charged with coordinating the detailed, collaborative program of analysis into client workflows, processes and industry dynamics. Kruse is also a former DCI employee who led key research and analysis projects from 1984-2000.
Added Jones, "Alan has a great talent for analyzing bank workflows, and has been instrumental in helping DCI create some of our best software features, from tools that allow bankers to easily program their own queries and analytics, to our iCore360® executive information analysis and flexible general ledger capabilities."
