NEW YORK, May 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DDB Worldwide Group will be presented with ten Webby Awards this week, making the agency the most awarded agency group at this year's festival. The winning offices span DDB's global network from New York to Paris and Hong Kong. The agency will receive their Webby Awards for the People's Voice, Websites, Interactive Advertising, Online Film & Video, and Mobile & Apps, across categories such as Automotive, Insurance, Branded Entertainment and Games.  The 16th Annual Webby Awards will be on May 21, 2012, at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom hosted by Patton Oswalt and will broadcast live at webbyawards.com starting at 4:30 p.m. EST.

"Winning 10 Webby awards demonstrates that the DDB Group is approaching digital campaigns in innovative ways," said Amir Kassaei, CCO of DDB Worldwide.  "Namely, DDB is viewing the digital space as an infrastructure rather than a media and pairing technology with our genuine creative insights to help solve the business problems of our clients."

Winning campaigns include DDB's work for Volkswagen (www.beetle.com), State Farm Insurance (www.showcasedwork.com/tribute) and Trace Urban TV (www.ddbparis-campaignsonline.com/Tracetv), and Tribal DDB's Intel work (www.youtube.com/inteltheescape). The 21st Century Beetle – Rock 'n' Scroll campaign by the DDB team in Berlin won four awards including a Webby Award and People's Voice Award for Best Automotive Website, and Webby Awards for Best Navigation/Structure Website and Best Visual Design/Function Website.

Academy judges including Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Arianna Huffington and mobile phone inventor Martin Cooper selected the Webby Award winners, while Internet voters around the world chose the winners of the Webby People's Voice Awards with a Webby record of nearly 1.5 million votes cast from over 200 countries.

Each year, the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) acknowledges the outstanding individuals whose groundbreaking Internet work stands out. The Special Achievement Webbys, selected by the Academy, celebrate the winners' commitment to leveraging the Internet to foster innovation and add to the growth of Internet culture.

"We're proud to be recognized by the Webby Awards for our fantastic creative work and results for our clients," added Paul Gunning, Chief Digital Officer at DDB Worldwide. "These accolades are a testament of our talented people around the network and where we are focusing the company and the work we do for our clients."

Winners will be celebrated at a star-studded ceremony at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on Monday, May 21, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. and presented with their awards. There, many will deliver their version of the famous Webby 5-Word Speeches. The show will be hosted by critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, writer, and actor Patton Oswalt, and streamed live in HD at www.webbyawards.com.
