SAN DIEGO, Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire-/ -- Shareholder rights law firm Johnson Fistel, LLP reminds investors that a class action complaint has been filed on behalf of all purchasers of Trivago N.V. ("Trivago") (NASDAQ: TRVG) pursuant or traceable to the Registration Statement and Prospectus issued in connection with its initial public offering on December 16, 2016 (the "Offering"); or on the open market from December 16, 2016 through October 26, 2017, inclusive (the "Class Period"). If you wish to serve as lead plaintiff, you must move the Court no later than December 29, 2017. The lawsuit seeks to recover damages for Trivago investors under the federal securities laws. Your right to share in any recovery doesn't require that you serve as a lead plaintiff.
The complaint alleges that defendants during the Class Period made materially false and misleading statements and failed to disclose that: (1) Trivago engaged in deceptive sales practices; (2) such practices were almost certain to bring Trivago under enhanced regulatory scrutiny; and (3) as a result of the foregoing, Trivago's public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times. When the factual details entered the market, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages.
On October 27, 2017, the U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority ("CMA") revealed that it was investigating the way in which Trivago displays information to customers. Specifically, the CMA said it was concerned about the "clarity, accuracy and presentation of information" and further stated it would be looking at what it calls "pressure selling".
