Dean Asofsky, Veteran M&A and TMT Banker, Joins Berenson & Company as Managing Director

NEW YORK, Aug. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Berenson & Company, a leading independent investment banking firm, announced today that Dean S. Asofsky has joined the firm as a Managing Director.  Mr. Asofsky, an industry veteran with over 20 years of banking and legal experience, has joined the firm to further build its advisory activities, with a particular focus on expanding Berenson's execution capabilities and relationships across the converging technology, media, telecom and entertainment spaces.

Mr. Asofsky was most recently at GCA Savvian, where he was a Managing Director and the senior M&A professional in the New York office, leading transactions primarily in the technology and media sectors.  Before GCA Savvian, he was at Credit Suisse, where he held a number of roles in the M&A group, including as Head of US Takeover Defense, and in the Multi-Product Event Trading Group as a risk/merger arbitrageur.  Prior to Credit Suisse, Dean was in the M&A Group at Morgan Stanley. Dean started his professional career as an attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Asofsky is actively involved in causes benefitting children with autism spectrum disorder. He currently serves on the board of the McCarton Foundation, a New York-based foundation dedicated to educating children on the autism spectrum as well as training those responsible for educating them. Dean is also on the Finance Committee of Extreme Sports Camp, which serves youths and adults across the autism spectrum through experiential, community-based learning opportunities to enhance their health, abilities, personal growth and social engagement. Mr. Asofsky earned his J.D. from the New York University School of Law and his A.B. in History, cum laude and with distinction in all subjects, from Cornell University.
