New tools give managers a live view of restaurant performance and a clear, mobile workflow for what needs to get done; speeding up the onboarding process for new managers and allowing them to intervene while there's still time to make a difference.
OMAHA, Neb., Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Decision Logic, a provider of back-of-house operations software for restaurants, today announced Vitals and ShiftFlow, two new products designed to help restaurant managers see what is happening in their restaurant right now, know what needs attention and take action before the shift is over.
The goal is simple: don't wait until tomorrow to find out what went wrong today.
Restaurant managers make hundreds of decisions during a shift. Sales change, labor runs high, an employee approaches overtime, Guest traffic misses forecast, or maybe a line check needs to happen during the busy period. And through all of it, the most important place a manager needs to be is on the floor leading employees and taking care of guests.
Vitals and ShiftFlow bring those signals and actions together, so managers can run a restaurant from the floor instead of the office.
Vitals tells managers how the restaurant is performing. ShiftFlow helps them keep the shift on track.
"Restaurant managers have always had plenty of data. What they haven't always had is the right information at the moment they can still act on it," said Keegan Conrey, CEO of Decision Logic. "We want managers to be able to see a problem developing, understand what needs attention and do something about it before the shift is over instead of reading about it in a report tomorrow."
Know how the shift is going, while it's still happening
Vitals gives managers a live view of the health of their restaurant through 34 near-real-time metrics spanning performance, labor, productivity and operational risk.
Instead of digging through reports, a manager can quickly see whether sales are tracking to forecast, how labor is performing against schedule, whether overtime is approaching, how productivity is trending and whether voids or discounts deserve attention.
Vitals includes 14 performance metrics, 11 labor metrics, five productivity metrics, and four adjustment-risk metrics.
That can turn everyday operating data into an early-warning system.
If something is moving in the wrong direction, the manager can see it while there is still an opportunity to respond.
Turn "someone should handle that" into "it's handled"
Seeing what is happening is only half the job. Managers have to keep dozens of tasks moving while running the restaurant, and gets more complicated when a new manager comes on board.
ShiftFlow was designed with manager turnover in mind. With 28% of restaurant managers turning over annually, ShiftFlow removes the guess work for a new manager who doesn't know what to do next. Documenting your process and putting that work into one mobile workflow. This creates consistency across locations and gives new managers a guide to help them perform consistently faster.
Tasks can appear automatically from existing schedules, be sent to restaurants by above-store leaders, or be created by managers in the moment. That means recurring operational work and unexpected needs can live in the same place instead of being scattered across paper checklists, messages, memory, and trips to the back office.
At launch, ShiftFlow supports nine task types, including scheduled orders, inventories, line checks, maintenance, closing activities, manager reminders, and notification reminders.
For above-store leaders, that creates greater consistency across restaurants. For General Managers, it provides something equally important: a clear view of what needs to happen next without pulling them away from their team and guests.
"Vitals answers, 'How are we doing?' ShiftFlow answers, 'What needs to happen next?'" said Conrey. "Put those together and you give managers a much better chance to change the outcome of a shift instead of explaining the outcome after it's over."
Built around the reality of running a restaurant
The products are designed around a basic reality of restaurant operations: the most valuable information is often the information a manager can act on now.
By bringing real-time performance visibility and day-to-day execution closer together, Decision Logic is giving restaurant managers a clearer path from signal to action to accountability, without requiring them to manage the restaurant from a back-office computer.
ShiftFlow will be available to Decision Logic customers without a POS dependency. Vitals will launch with Toast and Qu integrations, with additional POS integrations planned.
Vitals and ShiftFlow are available now, with beta customers already using them today. Restaurant operators can see both products live at the Decision Logic booth at FSTEC 2026 or request a demo at decisionlogic.io/demo.
