Decision Sciences and Los Alamos National Laboratory Receive National Recognition for Excellence in Technology Transfer of Muon Tomography

MIDDLEBURG, Va., Sept. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Decision Sciences International Corporation (DSIC), an advanced technology provider of security and detection systems, and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), a premiere science and technology research institution and U.S. federal laboratory, today announced they have been recognized by the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) as a 2014 Excellence in Technology Transfer award winner.

Each year the FLC recognizes federal labs and their industry partners for exceptional results in technology transfer. The national award is one of the highest honors awarded in the technology transfer arena and highlights the commitment to provide access of federally created technologies to the public. DSIC and LANL were selected for their groundbreaking work in the development and commercialization of Muon Scattering Tomography.

The technology is based on research originally conducted at LANL and incorporates a substantial portfolio of enabling intellectual property developed by Decision Sciences.
