Deloitte Tournament Raises $115,000 for Five Sacramento Area Children's Charities

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte's annual Fall Classic golf tournament raised $115,000 this year to benefit five children's charities in the Sacramento region. Since 2001, this annual event has raised $965,000 to help children and families in need.

The funds Deloitte raised exceeded expectations and set a record for the Fall Classic, now in its 14^th year. This year's beneficiaries were Sacramento Children's Home, Children Now, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children, Latino Sports Outreach and Positive Coaching Alliance.

Sacramento Children's Home said it will use Deloitte's donation to purchase new playground equipment, replacing a structure that is nearly 50 years old with one that is "far safer and more fun," according to CEO Roy Alexander.

"The boys in our residential program who have had so much of their young lives taken from them are going to have a great time playing on the new playground equipment. It will be a lasting legacy to the generosity of Deloitte and the sponsors of this annual tournament."

Every year, Deloitte's Sacramento-based professionals select several local charities as the beneficiaries of the Fall Classic. Their commitment to helping children is a natural extension of the work they do every day with clients to make an impact on the lives of children and families served by California's state agencies.

The Fall Classic brings together Deloitte professionals, business colleagues, and community leaders in support of many good causes. Deloitte covers the venue and administrative costs for the event so that 100 percent of the money raised from sponsorship fees, raffle ticket sales and live/silent auction proceeds can go directly to the charities.  The event is part of Deloitte's ongoing commitment to the Sacramento community through board participation, IMPACT Day (an annual day of Deloitte community service) and other community involvement activities throughout the year.
