BROOMFIELD, Colo., Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Webroot, the market leader in intelligent cybersecurity for endpoints and collective threat intelligence, today announced highlights from its first fiscal quarter operations, which ended September 30, 2015. Among the achievements for the quarter were significant growth across all business segments, driven by strong customer demand for Webroot SecureAnywhere® solutions and substantial increase in channel and MSP partnerships. The company also introduced new security innovations and industry-leading research during the quarter.
Double-digit Growth in New Business Continues
Webroot's first fiscal quarter saw strong bookings growth. The addition of new customers fueled double-digit, year-over-year growth across the company's target markets. Bookings from new business grew 29 percent in the OEM segment, 46 percent in the business segment and 16 percent in the consumer segment compared to the first fiscal quarter of 2015. This new business resulted in the addition of over 1.3 million new home users, over 453,000 new business endpoints, and over 700 new MSP partners during the quarter.

New Security Innovation Introduced
The introduction of the Webroot® IoT Security Toolkit enables Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solution designers and system integrators to integrate cloud-based, real-time threat intelligence services and intelligent cybersecurity device agents to protect critical systems against modern malware, zero-day exploits and other external threats and internal vulnerabilities. As a result, next-generation devices, gateways, servers, or IoT networks can be monitored and protected.
Strategic Security Alliances and Partnerships
With constantly changing security threats, the Webroot IoT Security Toolkit is now offered as part of the LynxSecure Hypervisor secure virtual space. When asked why, many (37 percent) responded that they "didn't think about it." Furthermore, of the 69 percent of moms who report their student does have security installed, 36 percent can't recall the name. Webroot will use this data to work with consumer organizations to educate parents and students on the risks of Internet use and ways to protect against infection and identity theft.
